FAQs

You have questions. We have answers.

What’s the difference between a charter operation and a dry lease?

With a charter operation (FAA Part 135) the company you use provides the aircraft, the pilot, plans the flight, and buys the fuel for the airplane. These are turnkey operations where everything is handled by the charter and you pay one company for all the services. Under a dry lease (FAA Part 91), you lease the airplane from CincyJetLease.com and then make all the arrangements with an independently hired commercial pilot. In addition, you purchase your own fuel and any other items related to your travel.

How safe is a single engine airplane?

Since entering service in 2016, the Cirrus SF50 Vision Jet has a superb safety record. It comes equipped with an airframe parachute, a standard safety component on all Cirrus aircraft. In 2017, the SF50 Vision Jet led to Cirrus Aircraft being awarded the Robert J. Collier Trophy for “improving the performance, efficiency, and safety of air and space vehicles.”

How quiet is the Vision Jet?

The SF50 Vision Jet is comfortable and relatively quiet, similar to what you would experience on a commercial flight.

Does the Vision Jet have a bathroom?

No, but typically the flights are short and bathrooms are readily available at your departure and arrival locations.

How do I locate a qualified commercial pilot?

The FAA and insurer require a pilot with at least a commercial and instrument rating. There are additional requirements which must be approved in advance of any flight by the insurance underwriter. Let us know if you need assistance with locating a qualified pilot.

Why is the airplane at Lunken Airport?

Lunken Airport is a convenient location, close to Cincinnati and major highways. With a control tower and multiple instrument approaches, it provides many of the conveniences of a large airport without the traffic and crowds.

Are pets allowed on flights?

Small pets (less than 50 pounds) are permitted if they are kept inside a pet kennel. For safety reasons, it’s important that pets do not have free roam of the aircraft.

Is smoking permitted?

Due to safety and health concerns, smoking is not permitted.
